We use two lasers that produce a total of three different colors of light. With these three colors of light, we can remove all colors of tattoo ink. Our main laser is a q-switched Nd:Yag/KTP laser made by Focus Medical named the NaturaLase laser. It produces two joules of power per pulse. What that means is that it treats your tattoo with two times more energy than any other laser on the market. That extra energy is used to treat a larger area of your skin per pulse of light. That larger "spot size" has important benefits. Each treatment takes one fourth the time to complete. Also, by starting with a larger spot size, as the light funnels down into your skin, it naturally gets down deeper. That means it gets to more ink and allows us to keep the energy at the skin surface lower so you have less chance of getting a side effect. These Nd:Yag lasers don't work on green ink. Some laser companies add on attachments to try to help, but when they do, the light that comes out is very weak and doesn't work well. Therefore, we have a second, stand-alone laser specifically made to remove green ink. That laser is named the Alexlazr and is manufactured by Syneron Medical. With this laser, green ink comes out a well as any other color.
